St. Mary de Crypt and the Tall Ships Weekend
Gloucester’s Flower Festival opens this weekend to coincide with the beginning of the TALL SHIPS WEEKEND. There is a service St. Mary de Crypt Service Friday 22 May invite on Friday, 22nd May to celebrate the opening. Further information under the Activities/General, Discover DeCrypt heading.
Founders’ Day Arrangements
The forms giving details of the activities on Founders’ Day – Monday, 29th June 2015 – have been published on the site. Please look under Activities/General and sub-heading 2015 Programme. Any changes to the arrangements will be published on this Old Cryptians’ website.
Golf on Founders’ Day, 29th June
Calling Old Cryptian golfers and friends! Do consider joining us at Rodway Hill, a few miles outside Gloucester, for the annual golf competition played on the morning of Founders’ Day. Please note the first tee time is 1015, not 0930 as stated in the reservation form recently emailed to members. The School is in desperate need of an Appeals Clerk to take notes at Appeal Hearings for places in Year 7 in September 2015. Sue Wales, the School Secretary needs someone ‘signed up’ very soon – however the appeals won’t be until June. Full training will be given. Payment will also be made. Old Cryptians’ Club AGM and Dinner 2015
Invitations to the Old Cryptians’ Club AGM and Dinner will be sent out very soon. In brief, the AGM, the Reunion Dinner and the Ladies Dinner will again be held at Gloucester Rugby (Kingsholm) on Saturday, 21st March at 6.45 p.m. Do come earlier if you would like to watch England v. France (Live) on a big screen.

Cenotaph Ceremony and March – 9th November
Once again the Crypt School have been invited to take part in the annual Remembrance Day service in Whitehall, to be followed by the March round to Horseguards taking the salute from a member of the Royal Family on the way. It is a significant honour for Old Boys of the School to participate in this National event. You do not have to be a member of the Old Cryptians’ Club to take part. London Dinner – 8th November
The London Old Cryptians’ Club will be holding their annual dinner on Saturday, 8th November 2014 at the Olde Cheshire Cheese in Fleet Street, London. A short AGM at 6.30 p.m. will be followed by dinner in the Williams Room at 7.00 p.m. The cost of the meal is £25, or for those attending for the first time, £12.
Our guest speaker this year is Professor John Morehen JP MA DLitt PhD FRCO(Chm) FRCCO Hon.FGCM. John is Immediate Pastmaster, The Worshipful Company of Musicians, Past-President, The Incorporated Society of Musicians, Emeritus Professor, Faculty of Arts at The University of Nottingham and OC.
