Derek Forbes sadly passed away peacefully on 3rd August 2012 in Prestbury, Cheshire where he had moved from Bromley.

Derek was born in Gloucester on 16th August 1923 and attended the Crypt School. The family lived at 12 Denmark Road until the early 1950’s when they moved to London. After school Derek qualified as a public analyst, which is the profession he followed for life with his move to a laboratory in south London. During the war he was in the Royal Observer Corps in the Gloucester area.
His sister Sheila (Dr Morrison) was a Doctor in Painswick until she married the Rev. R Morrison – vicar of Randwick until the mid ’80s. Sheila still lives in Stroud.
